Space Mining Challenge
Official SPMC website · a challenge by Leka Hattori and Instituto IDESI
We built the website for the Space Mining Challenge, an online hackathon on space mining, data, artificial intelligence and decision-making under uncertainty, with a national edition in September 2026 and a global edition in April 2027. The challenge itself is created and run by Leka Hattori and Instituto IDESI.
The story behind the project
Space Mining Challenge is an online hackathon connecting space mining, data, artificial intelligence and decision-making under uncertainty. The first edition, in Portuguese, runs from September 11 to 13, 2026, and a global edition in English is planned for April 2027. The challenge is an initiative by Leka Hattori and Instituto IDESI, with partners such as Hub Goiás, FIAP, Aviva and Rio Quente.
Our team built the website: the landing page that tells the challenge story, from rare earths and critical minerals to space resources, and the participant-only area with login. Registrations run through Sympla.
The front end was built in React, with a Next.js API and Supabase for authentication, database and file storage.
